Scalp and facial skin are closely interconnected, and research has found that the scalp ages 6 times faster than the face and 12 times faster than the body. At GAO-MI we believe the scalp should be treated as equally as the facial skin. In fact, we should be paying more tender loving care to the scalp as it ages the fastest! If we neglect to take care of the scalp it becomes stressed, hair follicles become clogged, elasticity and density decrease, resulting in a loss of firmness and vitality. Coupled with the inevitable effects of gravity, our facial skin begins to sag and fine lines and wrinkles begin to form.
Head and Scalp Massage was developed by holy men from the Himalayan region of India around 5000 BC and travelled to South East Asia. A holistic way of life was promoted with meditation, diet, exercise and massage using herbal oils, hereby creating a harmony within one’s whole self. Head and scalp massage is one of the oldest forms of holistic therapy and it remains to this day one of the most powerful methods of healing. It took until the 1970’s to arrive in the West.
Our full 165-minute deluxe head spa treatment has been designed to initially discover and analyse your personal scalp condition. We can then effectively treat and restore balance to the scalp, which in turn promotes healthy hair growth, reduces hair loss and lifting over the entire face. GAO-MI's signature treatment releases tension in the head and scalp, giving you an all over sensation of deep and calming relaxation.
Using our specialist equipment and unique techniques in conjunction with the highest quality, naturally extracted hair care, we achieve a deep cleanse, exfoliation, tone and hydration to firm and balance the scalp. Circulation of the head and scalp is boosted with acupressure, finishing serums deeply penetrate the scalp, and hydration hair masque nourishing the hair, leaving you feeling renewed, refreshed and revitalised.
This beautifully nurturing treatment includes a restorative face massage* and relaxing aromatherapy massage to the neck and shoulders, upper back and arms, hands and décolletage / chest using an organic blend of essential oils chosen to ease tension and calm the mind.
Your treatment is completed with a styled blow dry with a senior stylist. You will feel totally pampered and relaxed and float out the door looking and feeling your most rejuvenated self!
